]]> Throughout the program, you’ll study the teachings of the Catholic faith, learn leadership principles from a biblical perspective, and put what you have learned into action through reaching out to others, utilising the works of mercy.  You’ll encounter Christ through a deep study of scripture, learn how to organise effective liturgy, and develop practical skills in communication, volunteering and ministry.

As it says in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “love of neighbour is inseparable from love for God” (CCC 1878).

This call leads many Christians to generously give of their time and gifting in the service of others. However, we also know that our good intentions are not always enough, and it is important to implement good practices that provide appropriate care for people’s needs and their right to a safe environment.

]]> To this end, Acts 2 College offers a Certificate II in Active Volunteering from the Community Services training package. This course assists students to understand the skills required to effectively participate in volunteer work, by developing their understanding of the legal and ethical requirements of volunteering and how to consider the diverse needs of those they are working with, while also developing their communication skills.

In addition to this, students can choose any two units offered by Acts 2 College, including our own accredited units in Catholic theology, leadership and ministry skills to support their particular areas of interest. This course is approved by the Western Australian Schools Curriculum and Standards Authority to contribute to WACE.

Explore the key teachings of the Church through a study of the creed. Reach out to the wider community by researching social issues and planning and implementing two service projects to meet those needs.
